THIS WEEK
This week we worked on the letter E. I would like to THANK:
Cate for bringing in an Elephant.
Davidson for bringing in the number Eight and the word Engine.
Ethan for bringing in himself, the E block, and the E shape with an Elephant picture.
We also found talked about flying bugs.
Monday we planted our green beans in a flower pot and put it next to our classroom.
Tuesday we made bumblebees and read There was an Old Lady that Swallowed a Fly Guy. The kids thought this was a very funny story.
Wednesday we went on our hayride around Connor's Farm. We got to see the strawberry plants, raspberry bushes, and the apple trees. We also saw ducklings and swans in the pound. Group 1 and 2 got to join us on the hayride, too.
Thursday we made bee hives and bees.
Friday we did ladybug math.
NEXT WEEK
We will be continuing with the letter of the week. F is for Frog.
We will also be learning about spiders.

May 4-8 2009
This Week
We would like to WELCOME our NEW FRIEND Ben Hanas!!!!!
We worked on the letter D this week. I would like to THANK:
Ethan for bringing in a dog, a dog calendar, duck, and dominoes.
Davidson for bringing in himself and dragons.
Remy for bringing in a dog.
Keira for bringing in her dog Bella and Dumbo.
Ben for bringing in diapers.
Cate for wearing a dress.
Alexander for bringing in a dog and a dragon.
This week we learned about caterpillars. We made a Life Cycle of a Caterpillar poster. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. We talked about his art technique and created our own very hungry caterpillar. We went on a worm hunt and only found one worm. We also had picture day today.
NEXT WEEK
We will be learning about flying bugs like flies, bees, and ladybugs. The Hay Ride at Conner's Farm was postponed until Wednesday May 13, 2009. We will be leaving the school around 9:00 a.m. We will also be having a Mother's Day Tea in the classroom from 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m.

April 27-May 1 2009
This week
This week we turned the classroom into a farm. We read the book Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown. Blocks was turned into a barn, library was turned into a animal hospital, circle area was turned into a pig pen, floor toys was turned into a science area, and dramatic play was turned into a country kitchen. On Monday, Keira's dad came in and talked to us about life on a farm in Ireland. On Wednesday, Davidson's mom came in and talked to us about life on a farm and brought in chicks. We made tractor art and cow puppets. We also decorated bandannas. At snack time the kids got to pick the kind of farm snack they would like to eat at the country store.

Next week (May 4-8)
We are going to learn about bugs this month. We will be learning about caterpillars and worms the first week of May. We will be learning about the life cycle of a caterpillar. Later in the week we will be going on a worm hunt.
We will be starting up letter of the week again. D is for Dragon Fly.
Picture day will be on Tuesday May 5, 2009 in the morning. (The rain date will be Friday May 8, 2009)
